Why We Created Organic Sweets & Savouries – True Organics.
The past few decades have seen increasing chemical usage throughout the food supply chain, beginning with excessive application of chemical fertilizers on agricultural fields, followed by hormone injections such as recombinant somatotropin (rBST) in dairy cattle, genetically modified crops, and widespread food adulteration. The rise of eCommerce has also boosted packaged food consumption, which requires preservatives, emulsifiers, and other chemicals for long shelf life. Additionally, to maximize profits, many producers use cheap fillers and ingredients like maltodextrin, palmolein oil, artificial colors, and artificial flavors.
Today, when purchasing packaged food items, the ingredient lists on labels often contain a long and complex array of components that many consumers find difficult to understand without researching them online. Many local manufacturers do not even disclose their ingredient lists. Our own research working with dozens of local sweets manufacturers revealed that Besan Laddus contain Maida (refined flour) instead of being purely made from Besan (gram flour). Similarly, Kaju Katlis are generally produced by bleaching cashews with chemical whiteners to make them white and mixing them with lower-quality milk solids and other cheaper substitutes.
More than a year ago, by seeing rampant adulteration across many food manufacturers, we decided to take the lead and create pure and organic sweets and savouries. We set a simple principle for ourselves: to use the minimal number of ingredients as you can see below. We assembled a team of food technologists and Artisan Halwais and have been testing our products for several months. Recently, we launched an initial set of Organic Sweets on Amazon in India and the USA, Walmart (USA), Weee (USA), as well as on Zomato and Swiggy in Gurgaon, Haryana. 4) Organic Motichoor Laddus: Contain only Organic Besan (gram flour) (37%), Organic Sugar (40%), and Organic Cow Ghee (23%) – Enriched with Organic Saffron and a pinch of lemon juice.
We use only the above listed ingredients in our products, nothing else.
